Individual Therapy

My appreciation for therapy blossomed after I became a therapy client. I experienced the power and life giving process of someone paying attention, listening to my experiences, how I was thinking and feeling, and observing my reactions, with open ears, a discerning mind, and a nurturing heart. I believe that healing is not complete without therapy.

I provide a space where you feel safe—not threatened with judgment or abandonment. I will ask you to elaborate and focus on things that you have said or that have happened in the past or still going on, that may have a deep meaning and importance.   We will tug on that string of unprocessed thoughts, feelings, and issues and bring it to light. We will sit together, ponder, and wonder. We will find achievements and strengths from your past (trust me, you have them). We will find courage to walk a new path. I want to empower you to understand and find your true self. I want you to see how beautiful and powerful your life is.

I ask all my clients to be open, committed to change, and to not give up.

I use techniques from narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoanalytic therapy, and spiritual assessment. I can use concepts of Enneagram or Faith-based therapy if the client requests. My approach and style is a balance of being analytical, truthful, gracious, and supportive.

I always have a therapy-mindset even during medication management appointments. You can always expect some form of therapy each visit. If you desire longer appointments to converse and dig into issues, I would recommend scheduling a therapy appointment.

Please reach out to me today for an assessment for individual therapy or to schedule your first appointment.
